Position Summary/Description:

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our interdisciplinary team at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. The Nguyen Lab combines novel pharmaceutical sciences, engineering, and drug delivery approaches to develop next-generation biomaterials for the treatment of heart attacks. Current projects are supported by several multi-year NIH grants. A post-doctoral fellow in our lab will have the opportunity to lead the development of new biomaterials and delivery approaches designed to modulate inflammatory responses in ischemic heart diseases to halt disease progression.

Education and Experience:

  • Expertise in one of the following areas: mesenchymal stem cell isolation and culturing, extracellular vesicles, protein expression and purification, bioconjugate chemistry, or cardiovascular research

  • Strong oral and written communication skills.

  • Growth mindset, enjoy working in a team, and be motivated to publish high-impact work
