Vidalia Mills Maintenance Tech in Natchez, Mississippi

This position is for a Maintenance Tech with a company in Vidalia, LA.

Duties and Responsibilities: Inspects and test machinery and equipment to diagnose equipment malfunctions, dismantles and reassembles defective machines and equipment, installs new or repaired parts, cleans and lubricates shafts, bearings, gears, and other machinery parts. Installs, and/or repairs wiring and electrical and electronic components. Assembles, installs and/or repairs pipe systems and hydraulic and pneumatic equipment. Install machinery and equipment. Assembles, installs, and/or repairs plumbing. Paints and repairs woodwork and/or drywall, and maintain physical structure of facility. Sets up and operates machine tools to repair or fabricate machine parts, fixtures and tools. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts.

Education and Experience: At least 21 years of age. 3 years experience preferred. High school diploma or GED. The individuals will be expected to walk the facility as well as monitor the property. Employee will be required to sit and stand for 8-12 hour periods based on the shift schedule. Able to lift, push, pull, and move up to 75 pounds. The employee will be required to bend, lift, walk, turn with repetition. The work environment will be warm, dusty, with equipment which generates heat. The ability to wear PPE correctly when necessary inside of the manufacturing area.

The work environment is a textile mill operating 24/7. The available shifts are 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., 3 p.m. to 11 p.m., 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. with weekend shifts 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday. The position will work in a small building at the main entrance to the facility.
