Amazon is in search of a Supply Chain Manager to pinpoint, cultivate, and integrate inventive solutions and programs that contribute to enhancements in our North American transportation network. The scope of Amazon transportation encompasses all operations involved in delivering shipments from our fulfillment centers and third-party locations to customers worldwide.

In the role of a Supply Chain Manager within the Planning team, you will leverage robust data-mining and problem-solving skills to ensure cohesive planning throughout the North American transportation supply chain.

The accomplished Supply Chain Manager should be at ease extracting actionable insights from data, fostering ideas, and navigating from concept to execution. The candidate should also possess strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate and collaborate with leaders, all while providing expert feedback to customers.

Key job responsibilities

As a Supply Chain Manager on the Planning Team, this role will analyze the delivery performance across the North American transportation network, identify improvement opportunities, and then take business improvement programs from inception to successful implementation. This involves, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Using data to pinpoint potential problems with inputs and outputs of supply chain planning mechanisms.

  • Influencing across multiple levels of leadership and organizations through strong communication and analytical skills.

  • Supporting cross-functional teams in the day-to-day execution of the planning program implementation.

  • Utilizing metrics and data to collaborate with internal teams, identifying process and system improvement opportunities.

  • Developing reporting and monitoring mechanisms to track planning performance indicators and automate data analysis processes, enabling stakeholders to manage the business and make effective decisions.

  • Collaborating with data stakeholders (Data Engineers, Data Scientists, Supply Chain managers, and Product Managers) to implement appropriate process/technical improvements to reporting and planning mechanisms.

  • Retrieving and analyzing data using Excel, SQL, ETL, and other basic data management systems.

About the team

The mission of the WAPE Improvement Team (WIT) is to steward station-level aligned planning for supply chain business partners along the first, middle, or last mile within either first or third party. The team manages and mitigates differences between the aligned plan and the capacity commitment from the business partners in order to achieve alignment to a singular, end-to-end, supply chain planning mechanism. The team is also the ambassador for the tech tools used to simulate transportation volume planning, linking technical investments with business objectives to continuously improve cost, speed, customer experience, accuracy, and growth. The team is uniquely situated to synchronize planning across the business.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain, business, engineering, finance or related technical or quantitative field

  • Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

  • Experience leading process improvements

  • Experience working cross functionally with tech and non-tech teams

  • Experience in complex problem solving, and working in a tight schedule environment

  • Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)

  • Experience with data visualization using QuickSight or similar tools

  • Experience making business recommendations and influencing stakeholders

  • Proven analytical aptitude, including the ability to mine and analyze large, complex data sets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree

  • 5+ years of data analysis experience

  • 5+ years of supply chain, forecasting, manufacturing, sourcing/procurement, or vendor management experience

  • Experience in stakeholder management, dealing with multiple stakeholders at varied levels of the organization

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $92,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $181,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
