BCM Controls Corporation Plumbing Superintendent in Nashville, Tennessee

We are seeking an experienced plumbing superintendent who will be responsible for overseeing commercial construction projects and will be managing project needs including but not limited to materials, personnel, schedules and communication with project management team, customers and building officials. This includes maintaining the highest quality, supervising all plumbing phases and field personnel, while administering good safety practices with all on-site activities. Maintains day-to-day contact with construction customers.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Working knowledge of project schedule/milestones, submittals, contract documents (addenda, specifications, drawings) and in-house shop drawings; and would also be able to utilize these documents to coordinate work on site with other trades.

  • Complete required electronic documentation and diligently process daily reports, next week plans, accident reports and disciplinary reports.

  • Run and manage large scale commercial plumbing/piping construction projects including ability to oversee multiple jobsites simultaneously.

  • Proven experience managing multiple crews from Foreman to Helper/ General Laborer personnel.

  • Proven ability to coordinate with other trades to complete plumbing/piping scope of work within project schedule.

  • Accountable for the safe performance of personnel and equipment on their job sites

  • Proven ability to plan ahead.

  • Understands the flow of the project and can communicate with the operations or project manager on current or future labor needed on the job.

  • Understanding / complies with the company tool policy and can pass these values to less experienced employees.

  • Able to install plumbing systems and related materials with the use of hand tools and power tools, as needed.

  • Ability to operate equipment and machinery to complete plumbing related tasks.

  • Able to work from ladders, manlifts and other equipment at various heights.

  • Perform other related duties or special projects, as assigned.

Education, Training, Licenses and/or Certifications

  • 5 years of experience running and managing commercial plumbing construction projects preferred.

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

  • Experience overseeing job site personnel – foreman through helper/ general laborers.

  • Experience completing required documentation electronically.

  • Master license in trade in corresponding state preferred.

  • OSHA 30 hour preferred.

  • Familiarity with blueprint, schematic, drawings, and other equipment layout materials

  • Ability to pass a full background screening and drug screening.

  • Ability to pass MVR check (if applicable) or must have reliable transportation.

  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle, if provided.

  • Ability to pass a physical ability test.

  • Ability to travel, as needed, for projects.
