The Mechatronics Sustainable Packaging (MSP) Business Solutions team is seeking a Senior Technical Program Manager. The role requires the ability to work with minimal direction, the capacity to move quickly and be flexible while delivering high quality results in a fast-paced environment. Experience with AWS infrastructure will be key to success in this role.

In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Influence, manage, and execute the Business Solutions technical roadmap

  • Lead large scale business infrastructure transformation project

  • Drive continual improvement in systems operations through tool building and automation

  • Drive root cause analysis

  • Report on the health of our services at an executive level

  • Develop and drive initiatives focused cost optimization of existing AWS resources

  • Manage demand planning and forecast of AWS resource utilization

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Ability to conceptualize complex interrelated applications and system platforms, as well as the ability to effectively communicate those systems to non-technical team members and business partners

  • Strong bias for action and a "get it done" attitude

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining business requirements and KPI’s/SLA’s

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Key job responsibilities

The right candidate will possess a strong program management background, have demonstrated successful experience leading large projects, have a well-rounded technical background, be detail driven, and have excellent problem-solving abilities. You will thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment, and not be hindered by ambiguity or multiple competing priorities. You will roll up your sleeves, dig in and get the job done.

As a TPM, you will anticipate bottlenecks, provide escalation management, anticipate and make tradeoffs, and balance the business needs versus technical constraints. An ability to take projects and break them down into manageable pieces, develop specifications, then deliver them in a successful and timely manner is expected. Maturity, high judgment, negotiation skills, ability to influence, analytical talent, and leadership are essential to success in this role.

Basic Qualifications

  • 7+ years of technical product or program management experience

  • 5+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience

  • 3+ years of software development experience

  • 5+ years of technical program management working directly with software engineering teams experience

  • Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, budget, quality, along with risk and critical path management experience

  • Experience managing projects across cross functional teams, building sustainable processes and coordinating release schedules

  • Experience defining KPI's/SLA's used to drive multi-million dollar businesses and reporting to senior leadership

  • Experience building and evaluating system-level technical design

  • Experience developing and executing/delivering product and technical roadmaps

  • Experience leading highly technical programs involving infrastructure, complex systems, systems engineering

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $119,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $231,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
