Position Summary

  • The Assistant Controller, reporting to the Controller, is an integral role that provides financial support and oversight to ensure proper accounting, controls, and solid decision-making. In this role, you will ensure accountability and accuracy, and work towards continuous improvement of processes. Candidate will have high potential for advancement to the controllers role. This role will require you to be onsite at the Nashville facility.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct month-end plant close process and prepare financial reports and analysis
  • Manage weekly cash flow activities and reporting
  • Support budgeting and forecasting for the plant.
  • Ensure customer invoices are processed accurately and timely
  • Process incoming customer payments
  • Prepare and perform detailed analysis of revenue streams and financial forecasts
  • Review AR aging to ensure customer compliance
  • Assist with timely resolution of all customer invoice discrepancies
  • Regularly research, analyze, and reconcile data for accuracy and trends
  • Assist with product margin analysis by customer
  • Monitor and track performance against targets for direct labor and direct material
  • Manage the standard cost system including setting annual standards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial data and provide insights
  • Work with Operations to identify and implement cost savings initiatives
  • Prepares account reconciliations and variance analyses on a timely basis
  • Support inventory management and control
  • Provide analysis on new business and capital investment
  • Support the development and implementation of financial policies and procedures
  • Ensure compliance of internal controls and lead/support internal/external audits.
  • Provide backup support for Finance team members
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, CPA/MBA is a plus
  • 5-10 years of experience in a manufacturing accounting position or in Public Accounting conducting audits of manufacturing clients
  • Strong MS Office skills, particularly Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with US GAAP, accounting knowledge specific to manufacturing
  • Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Knowledge of spreadsheets and budget analyst skills
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently with little to no supervision
  • Must work well in a team-based environment
  • Experience in manufacturing environment preferred
