NWI Aerostructures Aircraft Painter (Prep and Finisher) in Nashville, Tennessee

NWI Nashville LLC, a tier I supplier of aerostructure components of commercial and business jet aircraft, is seeking a skilled Prep and Finisher. We have recently implemented an improved wage structure including a sign-on bonus for qualified candidates.

The Prep and Finisher will be responsible for mixing of NWI Nashville LLC, a tier I supplier of aerostructure components of commercial and business jet aircraft, is seeking a skilled Prep and Finisher. The Prep and Finisher will be responsible for mixing of paint, sanding, masking, painting, lettering and numbering of parts for purposes of finishing the product. The Prep and Finisher plays a critical role in producing quality aerospace parts where customer requirements and delivery schedule is a priority.

Job Responsibilities

  • Determine sequence of paint operations and methods to be used including color, blending and matching required, time allowance between coats, order of application and number required, type and amount of materials needed and areas to be painted.
  • Mix, blend, and match paints to proper color and consistency and apply interior/exterior finish coatings including shading and blending by use of brush and spray equipment on major assemblies and completed products; match, spot and feather colors to obtain required blends and contrasts; insignia painting, striping and final touch-up. Metal tag parts as required
  • Identify and number the appropriate part per engineering or blueprint requirements
  • Perform rework, glazing, stripping, patching, masking, sanding, etc. as required

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma
  • 2 years painter/finisher for two years in a commercial environment or have a certificate/degree in painting from the Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) or similar accredited institution.
