Senior Engineering Program Manager, Troy, MI, Carlex Glass America, LLC. Plan, design, engineer, and launch Carlex passenger vehicle glass products such as laminated windshields (including partially/fully heated; defining of optics to accommodate cameras and integrated Heads-up Displays (HUDs)); backlite glass (solar/privacy; laminated/non-laminated; heated/non-heated), and side windows (solar/privacy; laminated/non-laminated; heated/non-heated), to achieve OEM customer program milestones such as quality, timing, cost, and delivery. Perform Production Part Approval Process (PPAPs) and Gauge Run at Rates (Gauge R@Rs) and assure Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) deliverables. Organize and conduct cost reduction workshops at supplier sites to ensure efficiency on manufacturability, Gauge Run at Rate (Gauge R@Rs) cycle times, scrap rates, and compliance with Carlex Terms and Conditions. Monitor tooling development processes through Advance Product Quality Planning (APQP) to Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), and Start of Production (SOP) with the first full run test. Required travel to Carlex plants in U.S. (TN & IN) and to supplier facilities in U.S. & Mexico to evaluate or buy off on plant technical requirements; review installation of new production equipment, plant PPAPs & migration of new technologies; support development build events; and lead reduction and cost/problem-solving workshops, up to 7 weeks per year (equal to 13% annual travel). Bachelor, Industrial and Systems Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related. Thirty-six months' experience as Engineer or related, engineering and launching passenger vehicle glass products such as laminated windshields, backlite glass and side windows to achieve program milestones, or related.
