Lockheed Martin Flight Test Control Engineer in NAS Pax River, Maryland

Flight Test Control Engineer for Navy & Marine F-35 test aircraft at NAS Patuxent River, Maryland.

The successful applicants will provide Flight Test Control Engineering support to include coordination and execution of pre-flight and post-flight activities to ensure aircraft's test readiness including issuance, and closure of documentation relating to work performed on the aircraft, and coordination of aircraft modifications. Position requires control and tracking of aircraft configuration, coordinating and staging of support equipment, developing and maintaining aircraft test schedules, and coordinating with other organizations associated with test readiness.

The FTCE is the primary liaison between aircraft maintenance and engineering, communicating aircraft test configuration to responsible engineers and flight operations. You will be responsible for maintaining configuration of a myriad of items, from test equipment, software, hardware, all items necessary for a successful test evolution.

Knowledge of installed aircraft systems/subsystems and Support equipment. Knowledge of avionics/mission systems and vehicle/utility systems. Fault isolation and/or problem analysis at the subsystem level. Good knowledge of the system/software engineering environment.

Authoring test and technical documents (EIR/TCTD/AOL/GML, etc.), plus directing and overseeing their execution.

In addition to normal job duties the successful applicant for this position will be asked to act the primary training coordinator for the team. This includes the coordination of training material and activities for new team members and for continuing training for existing team members.

A level 4 employee Typically has 9 - 15 years of professional experience.

Basic Qualifications:

• Aircraft flight test experience

• Experience working with Aircraft Systems and/or Maintenance/Modification Procedures

• Experience and understanding of aircraft capabilities and test techniques

• Experience training and mentoring personnel

Desired Skills:

• Secret Clearance

• Engineering Degree

• Flight Test Request (FTR) and T2 modification processes.

• Schematics, Engineering documentation, reading /interpretation and their use during troubleshooting.

• Knowledge of avionics/mission systems and vehicle/utility systems.

• Fault isolation and/or problem analysis at the subsystem level.

• Good knowledge of the system/software engineering environment.

• Authoring test and technical documents (System Checkout Procedures, Ground Test Support plans, etc.), plus directing and overseeing their execution.

• Technical report writing.

• Excellent organization and communication skills

• Must be willing to work different shifts and weekends

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Clearance Level: Secret with Investigation or CV date within 5 years

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
