Salary:

$14/hr

Schedule:

Monday & Tuesday; 2.5hrs/day

Summer: Tuesday 2.5hrs, Summer Camp 20hrs

Overview:

Under the direct supervision of the Program Manager, the Youth Program Instructor is a part time position responsible for the supervision of the program participants and implementation of on-site activities and instruction.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Supervise program participants.

  • Implement activities and provide instruction for participants.

  • Maintain park district and school district equipment and facility in a clean and orderly manner.

  • Communicate effectively with participants, parents and staff regarding rule infractions, questions and concerns.

  • Demonstrate and support park district customer service standards.

  • Follow district and departmental safety, personnel, and administrative policies, procedures and ordinances.

  • Maintain a proactive approach to safety and risk management, reporting all accidents, incidents and unsafe conditions in a timely manner.

Other Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Distribute written communication to participants as necessary.

  • Notify Program Manager when supplies need to be ordered or restocked.

  • Record and communicate any difficult situations or behaviors to Program Manager immediately.

  • Perform miscellaneous job-related tasks as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of specific activity.

  • Ability to teach specific activities or skills to participants.

  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and leadership skills.

  • Ability to address complaints and resolve concerns as needed.

Education and Experience:

  • Must have experience working with children.

  • Must have experience with regards to specific activity.

Special Considerations:

  • Must be at least 16 years old.

  • Subject to modified/flexible work schedule.

  • Subject to inside environmental conditions.

  • Ability to occasionally lift light weight (20 lbs.) objects.
