Description
The innovative team at Robert Half is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant for a well-respected company in the manufacturing industry. The Staff Accountant will prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will lend your skills to developing and implementing accounting policies. In addition, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This intricate position is involved in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Napa, California area, this position is a challenging, multi-faceted opportunity to work for a company that recognizes and rewards hard work.
Your responsibilities in this role:
Prepare complex journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Survey and organize various financial data, reporting it in a useful and understandable manner
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Regular maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Manage reconciliation, depreciation, and fixed asset ledgers
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Maintain, implement, and adhere to internal controls while ensuring that accounting procedures comply with GAAP
Produce journal entries and perform the month end close under minimal supervision
Manage intercompany reconciliation, billings, and transactions
Special projects and impromptu reporting, upon request
Compose analyses for income statements and monthly balance sheets for management reporting
Partake in various department-wide initiative
Requirements
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
Excellent attention to detail
5+ years of recent and relevant accounting experience
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Deep understanding of QuickBooks
Proven knowledge of account reconciliation
ERP experience preferred
Experience with Microsoft Excel
