Medtronic Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) is looking for a Sr. Software DevOps Engineer to join our SW/FW Organization to support software engineering development processes, tools, builds, and release cycles.

The primary area of responsibility is ownership of software tools used in software development, which may include investigation, selection, configuration, scripting, licensing, maintenance, upgrade, validation, documentation, and connection to other electronic systems. The candidate will help to drive tool selection and support based on program needs, working to standardize processes across the operating unit’s SW/FW teams. The candidate will leverage DevOps practices to design, debug, deploy, and optimize CI/CD pipelines.

CAS R&D seeks candidates who will meet our customer expectations by striving without reserve for the greatest possible reliability and quality in our products, processes, and systems by being accountable, having a voice, and taking action.

A Day in the Life

· Ownership of tool chains used in software development such as JIRA, TFS, Gitlab, Docker, JFrog Artifactory, Bamboo, and Bitbucket

· Experience maintaining and deploying development tooling in AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Fargate, and S3.

· Maintain, upgrade, and improve development and release environments over time.

· Investigate, propose, and implement new technologies, tools, or processes which improve the reliability and efficiency of software development, build, and testing.

· Work with development teams in making changes and improvements to builds.

· Manage build agents and build dependencies.

· Create, maintain, and update formal documentation for build environments and other tools according to 62304 and FDA requirements for repeatability and validation.

· Configure and manage static code analyzers for development such as Coverity or SonarQube

· Provide scripting and/or code development as needed to connect and integrate systems (e.g. JIRA to Gitlab, or Bamboo to Bitbucket).

· Maintain code signing environment for builds for staging and production certificates.

· Manage web server for hosting various build outputs (e.g. Doxygen, Enterprise Architect models).

· Perform or oversee new validation; or locate, evaluate, and remediate existing validations; of de novo and upgraded software tools.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

· 8+ years of development experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Computer Science, Software, Biomedical, or Electrical preferred), or 3+ years of experience with an additional advanced degree.

· 3+ years of direct experience working with different software development tools.

· Experience maintaining and deploying development tooling in AWS services such as EC2, ECS, Fargate, and S3.

· Experience managing tool chains used in software development such as JIRA, TFS, Gitlab, Docker, JFrog Artifactory, Bamboo, and Bitbucket

· Ability to work with minimal supervision.

· Ability to work in a multi-site team environment displaying strong collaboration skills.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to summarize complex technical concepts and problems clearly and concisely.
