Medtronic is seeking a Principal IT Contract Analyst to join our IT Vendor Management Office (VMO) team. In this challenging and rewarding role, the IT Contract Analyst is expected to manage financial and contractual obligations related to our software, hardware and services agreements, ensuring our suppliers are delivering expected value by providing IT owners contractual information about their software, hardware and services agreements including things like terms, costs, spend forecasts and other critical contractual information.

This position performs at a moderate level of complexity with a high level of proficiency under general supervision. The IT Contract Analyst supports the VMO leaders, varying levels of IT leadership, supplier account teams, internal sourcing teams to ensure the expected financial value of the contracted services and/or products to meet Medtronic’s business objectives.

A Day in the Life

Financial Forecasting and Spend Management

· ollaborate with internal VMO stakeholders to define and implement proper financial forecasting processes and controls related to effective financial contract management of contracted managed services, software license and maintenance expenses

· Ensure controls and monitors are in place for managed services invoicing and billing cycles, software agreements and other contracts are effectively managed

· Define and coordinate the processes and procedures for financial tracking, measurement, reporting and approval of contracted managed services across IT stakeholders and related IT finance partners.

· Ensures appropriate credits and penalties are correctly applied and reflected in managed contracts and invoices

· Update and maintain VMO spend and contract management reporting and dashboards

Contract Management

· Partner closely with VMO teams to ensure contract owners have adequate visibility to contract renewals. Provide reporting and analysis surrounding contracts and spend at 360, 270, 180, 90, 60 and 30 day intervals to ensure that spend and contract managers have the necessary information available about their contracted spend and budget planning and forecasting requirements

· Track financial key milestones and contract termination dates; notify stakeholders and collaborate on required action

· Improve vendor performance, specifically by supporting supplier scorecards and other key measures and reporting designed to provide insights related to contracts and related spend

· Support continuous improvements in VMO processes

· Support VMO leadership with financial management reporting as required

Financial Risk Management

· Support VMO leadership to resolve escalated issues and disputes and develop root cause analysis where appropriate to improve spend and contract management processes. Escalate within the VMO and IT finance when necessary

· Ensure adherence to procurement and finance processes and policies

· Identify and create RAID items where issues and risks exist. Partner with VMO teams and other leaders in finance and IT to mitigate risks and resolve issues related to supplier contracts and spend

Continuous Process Improvement

· Continually demonstrate improving supplier health through results on dashboards and reporting

· Assist with audits of supplier processes as needed. Ensure auditability of supplier financial contract management and billing processes

· Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction are achieved through efficient processes and continuous improvement efforts

  • Recommend changes to governance processes and establish sustainable routines

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree

· 5+ years of experience in managing supplier contracts and spend

· Knowledge of general accounting and general ledger management

· Must possess writing and editing skills, with attention to detail

· Must have excellent communication skills

· Must possess ability to establish and maintain professional working relationship.

· Certified Professional Contracts Manager (CPCM)
