HB Specialty Foods Quality Control Technician Days (ID) in Nampa, Idaho

Immediate Quality Control Associate Opportunity

QC - Days (5am to 1:30pm)

Salary Compensation: $17/hour

No Probationary Period for Health Insurance*

Job Summary:

The Quality Control Technician position is responsible for a variety of different production duties. He or she will be responsible for operating various testing stations to record product data and monitor food quality status. He or she will enter data into software for quality records as well as monitor food safety in the work area. Quality Control Technicians must have high attention to detail and work at a fast pace in order to meet their key performance indicators safely and accurately. He or she also supports functions in production, sanitation and daily cleaning.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor all production Critical Control Points (CCP’s) and record data.

  • Maintain clear and legible documentation and manually perform accurate data entry in a timely manner.

  • Ensure that all evaluation equipment is clean and functioning properly.

  • Responsible for placing non-conforming product on hold.

  • Communicate any problem, product spec issue or changes in production quality to supervisor or lead personnel.

  • Collect all samples required during production operation.

  • Perform ATP swabbing and additional types of swabbing as needed.

  • Operate moisture analysis, bulk density, and rotap sampling equipment.

  • Verify pre-op documentation and periodically perform QC checks in working areas.

  • Verify product labeling at production start-up.

  • Verify and inspect ingredients and lot traceability on production paperwork.

  • Monitor internal pre-requisite programs.

  • Responsible for clear and accurate shift pass downs.

  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for line equipment and complete cleaning as needed.

  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s) while in all production areas.

  • Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work area.

  • Participate in continuous improvement process.

  • Complete all other duties and responsibilities as assigned or required .

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be hard working and able to work in a fast-paced, goal oriented environment.

  • Must be punctual and self-motivated.

  • Ability to work individually and with a team.

  • Must be able to perform physical requirements of the position including walking, standing, stooping and climbing.

  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without restriction, using proper safety methods.

  • Must have excellent communication skills.

  • Computer literacy required; must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, and the Internet.

  • Proven ability to accurately perform data entry.

  • Demonstrated ability in basic mathematics.

  • Must be extremely detail oriented.

  • Must be able to work in a facility that handles allergens including wheat, soy, egg and milk.

  • Ability to work in open environments, exposed to pungent odors and varying climates.

    Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.

  • Minimum of 6 months prior experience in quality control or a related field preferred.
