Engineer II - Hardware Design

Description

  • Collaborate with system architects and software engineers to understand hardware requirements for automotive systems.

  • Design and develop hardware architecture, including schematic capture and layout, adhering to industry standards and guidelines.

  • Utilize Electronic Computer-Aided Design (ECAD) tools for schematic design and PCB layout.

  • Perform signal integrity, power integrity, and thermal analyses to ensure optimal performance of the hardware design.

  • Select and validate electronic components suitable for automotive applications, considering factors such as reliability, availability, and compliance with industry standards.

  • Work closely with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure the timely and cost-effective production of hardware components.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during the prototyping, testing, and validation phases of hardware development.

  • Conduct hardware troubleshooting and root cause analysis, providing timely solutions to issues encountered during development or testing.

  • Ensure compliance with automotive safety standards, such as ISO 26262, and work towards achieving relevant certifications.

  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends, integrating advancements into hardware design strategies.

  • Contribute to the documentation of hardware design specifications, test plans, and validation reports.

  • Collaborate with other hardware engineers, firmware developers, and system engineers to achieve seamless integration between hardware and software components.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
