Michigan Spring & Stamping Quality Technician - Muskegon in Muskegon, Michigan

Michigan Spring & Stamping is a medium-sized family company based in Muskegon, Michigan and is part of the KERN-LIEBERS Group, a global technology leader for the production of highly complex strip and wire parts and assemblies. They are currently seeking a Quality Technician to join their team in Muskegon. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all products produced meet the required quality standards and specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular inspections of products to ensure they meet quality standards

  • Investigate and resolve any quality issues or complaints

  • Conduct root cause analysis of quality issues and implement corrective actions

  • Calibrate and maintain all lab equipment and testing tools (calipers, height gauges, CMMs)

  • Work with production team to implement and maintain quality measures and processes

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure quality standards are being met throughout the company

  • Participate in problem-solving and continuous improvement initiatives to identify and eliminate defects and improve processes

  • Communicate with customers and supplies to address quality issues and concerns

  • Create quality reports and documentation

  • Other duties as assigned by management team

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree in a related field preferred

  • 2-5 years of experience in a quality control role preferred, especially with metal stamping or springs

  • Knowledge of quality control principles and practices

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other related software applications

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 and TS 16949 quality standards preferred
