Description

The Desktop Support Technician is responsible for providing technical support to end users in the areas of hardware, software, and networking. This includes troubleshooting problems, installing and configuring new equipment, and providing training to users. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of computer systems and networks, as well as excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot hardware and software problems

  • Install and configure new hardware and software

  • Provide training to users on computer systems and software

  • Respond to help desk tickets in a timely manner

  • Work with other IT staff to resolve complex issues

  • Keep up-to-date on the latest technologies

Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in computer science or a related field

  • 1-2 years of experience as a desktop support technician

  • Strong understanding of computer systems and networks

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with a variety of hardware and software

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with Active Directory

  • Experience with virtualization

  • Experience with cloud computing

  • Experience with scripting languages

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
