Populus Recruiting Customer Service Representative (CSR) in Muscatine, Iowa

This position is typically dedicated to a specific customer account and will be responsible for most activities related to maintaining that account including handling freight, keying inventory transactions, and customer communications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Work with customers to coordinate shipments to and from warehouse to meet key customer delivery requirements.

  • Generate associated documents for customer shipments including warehouse pick sheets, packing lists, and bills of lading.

  • Receive inbound freight and verify contents. Reconcile product received with packing list information to identify any discrepancies.

  • Create and apply labels to properly identify parts per customer specifications.

  • Communicate with customer and carriers for transporting customer orders and receipts. This includes

    greeting drivers as they arrive, communicating loading and unloading instructions, and signing

    necessary documents.

  • Promptly communicate any problems to the customer associated with outbound shipments and

    inbound receipts, including product availability, damage, inventory discrepancies, and carrier issues.

  • Furnish customer with inventory reports such as stock status, transaction history, and tracing

    information as requested.

  • Enter inventory transactions into the warehouse management system (WMS) or customer-specific data

    system and manage the integrity of inventory accuracy. Properly file associated warehouse and

    shipping documents for future reference.

  • Effectively communicate with warehouse operations to ensure proper scheduling of activities

    including inbound and outbound freight, physical inventories, cycle counts, and special customer

    requests/projects.

  • Maintain a good understanding of warehouse GMPs to apply to customer activities.

  • Keep warehouse management informed of customer feedback and any signs of customer

    dissatisfaction.

  • May oversee Sample Room duties including sample production.

  • Additional duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

General office experience, including telephone techniques and computer skills. o Experience working in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook required o Prior experience with Dynaway AX Asset Mgmt. Software helpful o Zebra Printer, printers and copy machines

o 2-way Radio

o Multi-line phone system

  • Must be an organized individual who is able to handle multiple tasks at a time while effectively

    communicating with customers and warehouse operations.

  • Communication skills, both written and oral, are necessary to establish and maintain effective working

    relationships with customers.

  • Must be able to identify problems and make recommendations to solve problems.

  • Attention to detail and accuracy are foremost in the ability to maintain accurate inventory.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and related company or customer data systems

    needed.

  • Some prior customer service and/or warehouse experience desired. As a direct company

    representative of the Companys customers this position requires a professional demeanor and provide a high level of customer service at all times.
