Job Summary : The person hired for the position of Nosology Services Analyst will spend your days researching and responding to customers coding, grouping and editing questions. Expect to see questions and problems on a daily basis that you have never before encountered in your career. You must be experienced in researching medical coding guidelines, medical diagnoses and procedures as well as regulatory guidelines. You will respond to customers in a written format providing answers to their questions as well as the rationale behind the answer. Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: Respond to inbound customer support requests for medical coding, editing and grouping problem resolution. Represent 3M HIS in communicating with external customers and related 3M departments in the following: Customer issues, inquiries and problems with regard to medical record coding, editing and grouping Education on coding, documentation, compliance and working with 3M HIS Coding & Reimbursements System Dealing with software concerns-problems using discretion and independent judgment Maintaining relationships with customers by understanding their needs Identification of areas of opportunity to improve communication and efficiency of operation and customer satisfaction Basic Qualifications: High School diploma or GED from an accredited institution AHIMA Coding Certification: CPC, RHIA, RHIT or CCS Minimum of five (5) years of physician coding experience Preferred Qualifications: Associate's Degree in Health Information Management Prefer seven (7) years of physician coding experience, including surgical coding. 3M HIS Codefinder experience Experience working in a teaching, auditing or consulting environment Proven experience providing positive customer service, good communication and problem solving in a fast-paced environment Knowledgeable of new trends in clinical management and health information systems for clinical and physician services areas Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines Excellent problem solving, analytical and organizational skills Proven ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proven ability to maintain a positive attitude in a team environment Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint Location: Remote Travel: May include up to 10% domestic Relocation: Is not authorized Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
