Murray State University Coordinator, Student Development in Murray, Kentucky

Summary of Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Inform, advise, and counsel prospective students and their families about Murray State University’s programs and services. Make off-campus visitations to high schools and appropriate non-school programs to provide information about the university. Perform extensive work with database communication and system management. Organize and conduct Legacy Alumni receptions and special programs for prospective students and their families.

  • Meet with prospective students and their families

  • Develop a recruitment territory plan.

  • Conduct presentations to groups of visiting students

  • Maintain data base of perspective students

  • Attend recruitment events at various high schools and community-related events

  • Serve as an ambassador of MSU

  • Host monthly informational sessions at MSU

  • Plan, organize and promote Legacy Alumni events

  • Plan and conduct the training for the 100 student ambassador Tour Guides

  • Maintain the Student Ambassador Budget

  • Maintain publication and communication plan for Legacy students and their families

  • Create and publish online newsletter for Legacy families

  • Maintain partnership with MSU Alumni office in planning events and activities for alumni families and friends.

  • Maintain the Legacy Recruitment database

  • Serve as point of contact for Legacy information and follow up

  • Supervise Campus Visit Coordinator, Student Workers, Graduate Assistant, 15 Student Workers and Student Assistants, 100 Student Ambassador Tour Guides

Minimum Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

Minimum Experience and Skill Requirements:

  • Student Recruitment related experience
