Come be a part of our renowned engineering team at Siemens Mobility, where we design cutting-edge rail vehicles that are instrumental in shaping the future of freight and passenger transportation.

  • Collaborate with a dynamic engineering team working on high-speed locomotive projects in Europe, Asia, and North America, supporting vehicles that operate up to 230 km/h and carry loads of several thousand metric tons.

  • Engage in close cooperation with both software and hardware colleagues to ensure seamless integration of brake systems.

  • Work internationally with engineering teams spread across various Siemens Mobility sites, including Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Hungary, Spain, United States, India and more.

  • You collect self-sufficient requirements and create specifications and system solutions for the brake system.

  • You clarify and implement the interfaces between the brake system, brake supplier and the vehicle’s mechanicals design as well as software.

  • You plan functional tests and carry them out in the laboratory as well as on site at our plant, on the test facilities or during test drives on the rail networks.

  • Contribute to the technical development of brake systems, aligning with market trends and a platform strategy.

What do you bring along?

  • You hold a master's degree in electrical engineering, mechatronics or a related field.

  • Moreover, you have several years of experience in the development and approval of brake systems, acquired through your work in the development, operation or maintenance of rail vehicles.

  • Ideally, you have gained this experience in the role of system manager (f/m/d).

  • You are well familiar with the European requirements and standards for braking systems.

  • In addition, you have knowledge of requirement engineering, configuration and change request management.

  • You like to work with complex systems and use a structured way of working, problem solving and documentation.

  • You have very good English (C1) and basic German (B1) skills.
