Intel GPU Compiler Engineer (f/m/d) in Munich, Germany

Job Description

We are looking for a GPU Compiler Engineer to join our team who is ready and eager to make significant impact on AI, Data center and Client Graphics via advanced compiler optimizations and novel architectural features. Design and develop state of the art compiler translations and optimizations targeting GPU. Investigate and prototype new optimizations to improve performance and efficiency for GPU systems. Collaborate with GPU HW architects to co-design/define new uArch features and ISA for future Intel. Perform measurements and workload analysis to evaluate and improve the compilation technology on new HW features. Write technical specification, design documents, and patent disclosures.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree and 3+ years of relevant experience.

  • Ph.D. degree in Computer Science or related STEM degree and 1+ year(s) of relevant experience.

Minimum skills we are looking for:

  • C/C++ programming skills supported by work experience on industry projects using these languages.

  • Knowledge of LLVM compiler internals and/or GPU/CPU compiler technology supported by professional experience in the domain.

  • Knowledge of development tools and practices according to industry standards

Preferred Skills and Experience that will make you stand out:

  • Experience in development of compiler optimization (middle-end) or backend parts.

  • Experience in performance analysis and tuning of compiler transformations and optimizations.

  • Experience in GPGPU architecture and programming model.

  • Knowledge of GPU Compute APIs e.g. OpenCL, OneAPI, CUDA.

  • Experience in development of workloads (HPC, AI) for heterogeneous architectures

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site. In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
