AI Technical Program Manager

Job Description

We are looking for a Technical Program Manager (TPM) to drive research breakthroughs and accelerate research adoption into development and production. In this role, the TPM actively engages with research scientists, software, and hardware engineers. In close partnership with research, engineering, and other cross-functional teams, the role creates technical roadmaps, defines, and manages KPIs, and executes development and customer programs.

Our mission is to use the latest machine learning and cloud technologies to develop the best AI inference for self-driving vehicle and advanced driver safety engineers. Renesas is the leading automotive electronics supplier globally, and this is a rare opportunity to deploy your AI software to the billions of devices we ship to customers every year. You will join our newly formed AI Solutions global research and development organization of around 100 software engineers. Due to strong demand for our AI-related products we are planning to triple in size in the next three years, so there is lots of room for you to help us grow the team together while remaining small. Our key locations are the Tokyo, London, Dusseldorf, and Ho Chi Minh City metro areas, but you can also join fully remotely from other locations globally or get our support to relocate to our key location hubs such as Tokyo.

Responsibilities:

  • Build strong and aligned program teams to efficiently deliver shared goals.

  • Collaborate with research scientists, software engineers, architects and business owners to define program requirements, set priorities, and establish scope which includes defining the roadmap and long-term strategy of the teams with which you are partnering.

  • Manage cross functional dependencies, risks, and changes effectively by optimizing scope, schedule, and resources accordingly.

  • Design and improve stakeholder management plans and contingency plans to communicate program status, priorities and risk

  • Partner with cross functional teams

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science, machine learning, mathematics, physics, electrical engineering or related field.

  • 5 years of software engineering, systems engineering, hardware engineering, or technical product/program management experience.

  • Experience delivering tech programs or products from inception to delivery.

  • Experience establishing work relationships across multi-disciplinary teams and multiple partners in different time zones.

  • Ability to speak and write in English at a business level
