FAMILIES UNITED NETWORK INC Youth Advocate all 3 shifts available- Muncy- New Hire Bonus! in Muncy, Pennsylvania

Youth Advocates play a pivotal role in our group home dynamic. Advocates are positive mentors who guide and make a difference in teens' lives. You will be aiding in skill development in all areas of their life such as education, health, housing, employment, relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Report to Program Supervisor and follow guidance from Group Home Supervisor on shift.
  • Monitor residents to ensure compliance with program requirements.
  • Engage with residents and ensure that their needs are being met.
  • Ensure that any resident wishing to have access to religious activities can do so, if desired.
  • Attend staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Administer resident medications, according to agency policies and procedures.
  • Meet with direct supervisor on a consistent basis for supervision sessions.
  • Meet on-call requirements.
  • Complete other duties, within reason, that are necessary to provide for the safety and welfare of a child or children as would a parent.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED 
  • Preferred one (1) year of work experience with children
  • Valid Pennsylvania Driver's License
  • State Police, FBI, and Child Abuse clearances required. Will be paid for by the agency
  • Must be at least 21 years of age per Department of Human Services regulations
  • Eligibility under current Pennsylvania legal and regulatory requirements.

Physical Requirements:

required to stand; walk; sit, ascend and descend stairs. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner and maintain the standard of care that is appropriate for this position. Must be able to physically respond to residents who are engaging in unsafe behavior. Salary: $15.00 to 15.75 per hour
