ANDRITZ Inc. Engineering Intern in Muncy, Pennsylvania

Purpose Statement

The engineering intern position will be an active and equal partner in our engineering team. Responsibilities include creating and revising 2D & 3D drawings, conceptual product design, and interaction with shop floor personnel to solve manufacturing problems

Job responsibilities and tasks

  • Revise 2D & 3D drawings in accordance with Engineering Change Management procedure.
  • Create fully constrained 3D models of various products ranging from simple components to complex assemblies.
  • Create simplified 3D models and general layout drawings of equipment for Sales inquiries.
  • Assist engineers to develop design solutions for existing and new products (Lifecycle Mangement / R&D)
  • Cross department support, example Quality, Engineering, Assembly, Procurement & Manufacturing.
  • Other duties as assigned

Education, professional experience and qualification preferred/required

  • Student in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
  • Proficient in Autodesk products (Inventor, Autocad, Vault).
  • Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.

Physical and Mental Qualifications

Position performed indoors in an office environment, however, frequent visits to the manufacturing plant facility is required, which includes exposure to varying temperatures and noise levels, dust, dirt, fumes, welding machines, heavy duty magnets and manual/remote controlled devices using radio signals. Physical conditions for position are to sit, stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, kneel, stoop, crouch, climb, grasp, ascend/descend stairs, possibly lift up to 50 lbs. Must have visual acuity, excellent mobility, good hearing, manual dexterity, good balance, ability to endure long hours, and wear required personal protective equipment. All tasks performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
