Burns & McDonnell Instrument & Controls Automation Designer - (GFS 1 year Contract) in Mumbai, India

Description

Burns & McDonnell India has exciting opportunity for Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) Designer interested in growing their careers in one of the fast-paced company involved in high tech building design and construction. We are in a process of establishing a team of instrumentation & controls designers focused on design of control systems for Hyperscale Data Centers and Food & Consumer Product facilities. Project focus would also cover variety of other facilities including pharmaceutical, life sciences, healthcare, manufacturing, airports, and institutional facilities in the North America region. Along with I&C the selected candidate will also get involved in telecommunications, building automation systems, etc.

We are looking for a young and energetic candidate to join our Global Facilities business unit in Mumbai office to support Instrumentation & Control design activities for above listed facilities. The designer will be responsible for developing I&C engineering design packages and calculations in support of new or retrofit projects. Specific duties include the following:

  • Responsible for development of 3D model and 2D drawings for various Control & Automation fields like Instrumentation, Telecom, Building Automation System (BAS) and Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS) for industrial facilities.

  • Coordinate with other disciplines and other stake holder(s) to develop a clash free system design.

  • Responsible to manage the assigned scope within agreed schedule, budget and complying with agreed project quality norms.

  • Assist more experienced engineers in preparing, coordinating and reviewing deliverables for the discipline.

  • Training new staff members on various tools and discipline practices.

  • Willing to advance in career by taking increased responsibilities on projects and organization.

  • A committed team player able to work on own initiative.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good Communication skills (verbal & written) and ability to self-check and produce accurate work.

Qualifications

This position requires an individual capable of applying intensive and diversified knowledge of principles and practices to broad areas of assignments. Must be capable of interpreting and developing solutions to complex problems. Qualifications include:

  • Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering or ITI / NCTVT certification in a relevant field.

  • 5-8 years of related experience.

  • Experience in Autodesk Revit is preferred.

  • Knowledge of basic technical theory and engineering principles in Control and Automation.

  • Knows how to apply engineering principles for basic design analysis within discipline

  • Knows input requirements to perform various discipline tasks.

  • Should have good understanding of activities carried by other disciplines and also of inter discipline coordination involved on typical project.

  • Should have hands on experience in preparing Floor Plans, Control Room Layout, Wiring Diagrams, Loop Drawings, Instrument Location Plans, Panel GAs.

  • Familiar with P&IDs, Cable Schedule, IO List and Network Architecture.
