Description

We at Amazon Data Services India Private Limited (‘ADSIPL’),are looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class cabling infrastructure engineer to join our growing team within its infrastructure operations. The candidate will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and to develop innovative ways to automate and scale our network as we expand.

Key Job Responsibilities

· Adhere to security and safety best practices in the data center.

· Installation and testing of copper and Fiber Optic cabling.

· Creating/attaching labels and barcodes

. Understanding of test equipment (power meter / light source, OTDR, VFL,

network analyser, copper / fiber cabling test equipment)

. Basic build and troubleshooting of network devices.

· Managing inventory of related materials by checking and coordinating all materials to be delivered to site daily

· Adhering to defined escalation processes and standard operating procedures.

· Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperatures than standard office environmental conditions.

. Regularly work at heights and from ladders.

. Experience with a ticketing system

· Ability to travel within geographical work area is required. Occasional work in tight and/or narrow spaces, such as under raised floors

Basic Qualifications

  • Diploma/Graduation in a technical field or equivalent practical experience

  • 1-2 years of project management experience or operations planning experience

  • 1-2 years’ experience with physical network infrastructure deployment and troubleshooting

  • 1-2 years’ experience with network cabling (fiber optic & copper)

  • English language communication ability

  • Basic knowledge of computer hardware and network cabling.

  • Ability to work well with others in a team environment, displaying excellent time management skills and the ability to follow direction.

  • Able to work at heights or use ladders for continued periods

  • Have strong attention to detail, maintain high quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Substantial background in large scale datacentre network implementations and support.

  • Knowledge of Copper and Fiber Optic testing methodologies.

  • Ability to read basic layout drawings and floorplans.

  • Industry standard certifications (CompTIA, CITY & GUILDS Cabling cert or equivalent).

  • Previous experience working in a Data Center environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management).

Basic Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent diploma

  • STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education

  • Are 18 years of age or older

  • Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications

  • Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required

  • Work 10 hour shifts as needed

  • Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with Manager

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems
