BlackRock Analyst, Transfer Agency Oversight/ Invoice Reconciliation in Mumbai, India

About this role

Technology and Operations (“Tech Ops”) supports the development of the firm's operating infrastructure to support BlackRock's investment businesses worldwide. Tech Ops establishes and coordinates operational procedures internally and externally with clients, custodians, accounting agents, prime brokers, broker-dealers, and other vendors, as well as strengthen BlackRock's relationships.

Global Fund Distributor Services (“GFDS”) is a unit within Tech Ops – Global Accounting And Product Services (GAAPS). GFDS provides management and oversight of BlackRock Fund Transfer Agents and distribution partners that service and distribute our Fund Ranges globally. We also perform governance and oversight of BlackRock’s Retail Fund Distribution Partners. As we look to expand GFDS footprint in India, we are seeking an Analyst to join our team.

In the main, this role will sit within the Fund Distributor Payments function with a focus on reconciliation of our TA data and client fees to facilitate client payments. This requires a strong attention to detail, diligent, proactive attitude to break resolution and, ideally, reconciliation experience.

Our ideal candidate will be familiar with financial control processes and data analysis in Excel. As a member of the team this role will primarily be responsible for the following:

  • Process US & EMEA payments while ensuring contractual terms are properly enforced and audit requirements are satisfied

  • Work in partnership with our team members across the Firm to ensure all invoicing is completed accurately and timely within our agreed upon SLA while maintaining a consistent focus on the client experience

  • Maintain and reconcile intermediary data. This could include researching differences between Transfer Agents, trading partners and fee payment software using Excel/MS Access

  • Exception monitoring and escalation of any fee discrepancies to ensure transparency on outstanding issues while properly mitigating areas of risk

  • Ensure a robust control environment exists between the fund service provider and internal stakeholders

  • Drive increased efficiency and innovation through continuous review of operating procedures and partner with team to evaluate technology improvements

  • Ensure third party Transfer Agent setup of retrocession agreements and fee terms are in line with BlackRock instructions

  • Review retrocessions calculations are in line with a standard methodology and provide commentary for outliers to mitigate risk

Experience

  • Minimum 2-5 years of financial services experience and have a good understanding of Financial Markets, preferably within the Asset Management, Reconciliation role or Transfer Agency Oversight environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting (strongly preferred) or Finance.

  • Previous reconciliation / data analysis experience would be encouraged

  • Strongly proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office

  • Understanding of risks and controls within a financial services environment

  • Experience of working with external providers

  • Knowledge of SQL and similar database technologies (Aqua Data) as well as an emphasis on automation and visualization tools (Tableau/PowerBI) would be beneficial

  • Engage and maintain relationships with key partners in GAAPS and across the firm to effectively navigate the global organization

  • Provide exceptional client service through quick and complete response to internal/external client queries

  • Assist with developing metrics and reporting for senior management
