The Microsoft Teams Messaging team covers the core communications of the product. Responsibilities

  • You have experience in driving projects from design through implementation, experimentation and finally shipping to our users. 

  • You have the experience in software to know how to push the limits and proactively bring forward new ideas.

  • You are expert in object-oriented languages, and you have a solid grasp of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns. You have working experience with React and Typescript, or with JavaScript.

  • You collaborate well - you can explain your work, you can ask good questions, you can listen to your peers, and your customers, and you like to give and receive feedback. You like to collaborate closely with Product, Design, and Engineering international teams across multiple geographies to build new features.

  • You’re a professional engineer - you understand that it’s not enough to write code that works; it also must be well-designed, secure, reliable, diagnosable, actively monitored, performant, easy to test, accessible, and easy to scale over time. You are looking forward to leveraging the existing knowledge, best practices, and documentation to build your solutions.

  • You love building beautiful apps and crafting the best user experience. For you, an app isn't working correctly until it feels great to use.

  • You gain a working understanding of Microsoft as a business and collaborate with mentors and leaders to contribute to cohesive, end-to-end experiences for our users.

Qualifications

  • You have designed and delivered applications that are performant, reliable, accessible, and secure for millions of users.

  • You have deep experience with HTML/CSS, React, JavaScript/Typescript, Apollo and GraphQL or similar technologies.

  • Your apps are instrumented, in addition to using analytics and A/B testing to drive features.  

  • You are familiar with Agile, frequent app releases and modern software development lifecycle.

  • You are enthusiastic about partnering and working collaboratively with local and global teams across Microsoft, and in the Open-Source community. 

  • You teach others the things you know and learn from others.

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in computer science, or related technical discipline AND senior level technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to Javascript, ReactJS

  • OR equivalent experience.
