Microsoft Corporation Software Engineer - Senior Engineer- Large Language Model in Multiple Locations, Australia

As a Software Engineer II or Senior Engineer on our team, you'll have the unique opportunity to directly influence the development of our security products by partnering with product managers, business stakeholders, and users. Responsibilities

  • Partner with product managers, business stakeholders, and users to understand user pain points deeply and create innovative solutions that delight your customers in an agile development environment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 4-6 + years technical engineering experience (more if seeking a senior level) with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Go OR equivalent experience.

  • 4+ years of experiences writing Golang, and/or Python applications (over 5+ years min if seeking a senior level)

  • Desire to work in open-source , communicating with both team members and open-source contributors asynchronously via GitHub, Slack, and regular community meetings on Zoom.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science

  • OR related technical field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python or Go

  • OR Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, Python, or Go

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Experience writing Golang, and/or Python applications.

  • Experience with containers, container security and software secure supply chain ecosystem.

  • Experience or desire to learn to develop products with LLM integration.

  • Experience working with software supply chain security buildattestations, such as SBOMs and provenance, is a plus.

  • Have a proven track record of remote work and ideally, experience contributing to open-source projects.

  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively and respectfully with external contributors. Our projects are not “Microsoft only”. We assist external contributors in the hopes of encouraging them to contribute to our designs and eventually become project maintainers themselves.
