JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description Summary: Under the supervision of the Quality Manager, the Quality Inspector performs complex geometric dimensional inspections on received product, first article, in-process, and finished products, ensuring compliance to specifications. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Approve incoming materials/parts by confirming specifications; conduct visual and measurement tests. Approve in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and cmm inspection to existing programs; communicating required adjustments to production. Approve finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; returning products for re-work; confirming re-work. Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; inputting data into quality database, creating non-conforming material reports. Perform first article inspections and submits results to manufacturing. Accomplish quality and organization mission by completing related results as needed. Take precision measurements and perform complex precision set-ups. Dimensional inspection using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges etc. Generating inspection plans, first article inspection reports and recording measurements. Interpret certifications, detailed blueprints, complex engineering drawings, work orders, engineering specifications, and routing sheets to determine production standards and tolerance limits. Assist in addressing and resolving production problems causing deviations from existing standards. Comply with all quality and safety regulations and procedures (ISO 9000 Compliant). Other duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: Ability to perform manual layout inspection using height gages and hand tools. Ability to operate manual and/or DCC CMM (PC-DMIS or Calypso). Programming experience is a plus. Ability to operate optical comparator and related peripherals. Understand the care and use of pin gages, thread gages and gage blocks. Understand complex dimensioning systems and can interpret Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerances (\"GD&T\") symbols.
