BURTON SIGNWORKS INC National Account Manager in MT AIRY, North Carolina

Position Summary:

The National Account Manageris responsible for all sales administrative duties associated with repeat national accounts. National Account Managers communicate with the customer to determine needs and obtain necessary information, and also work with the Company's Design, Manufacturing, and Installation Management Departments to facilitate a smooth sale from start to finish, then follow-up with the customer to ensure satisfaction.

Essential Functions:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or ability required.

  • Be knowledgeable of Company product lines, techniques, and terminology; communicate using this information correctly, both verbally and in data-entry procedures.
  • Show proficiency in the use of the many features of the ERP database (SyteLine), in Windows-based Microsoft Office tools; Word, Excel, Schedule, MS Outlook, and in the Access database developed for account management; use these tools as directed and look for/suggest other time-saving procedures using these and other organizational tools.
  • Work with customers via phone, e-mail, or personal contact to gather all the information necessary to learn the customers' needs and expectations for the sign project. Develop a clear understanding of goals to be accomplished, the financial budget to do so, the advantages and limitations of the job site, and local codes/landlord restrictions pertaining to the location.
  • Document information gathered in an orderly system following Company SOP's and using appropriate Company forms and record keeping procedures, making the information easily accessible to any employee to research the order.
  • Work with Design, Engineering, Production, and Installation Management; supply the information needed to provide customer with production drawings, surveying information, estimates, production details, and permits.
  • Work with local Municipalities to secure sign permits. Provide cities with required drawings and application fees. Work with subcontractors for out-of-state locations to secure permits.
  • Obtain written contract or purchase orders for all orders.
  • Keep in contact with the customer, relaying all changes to design, engineering, production, and install promptly and accurately, using correct forms and procedures. Keep informed on due dates and adjust SyteLine ERP, as needed, so manufacturing can schedule appropriately.
  • Prepare weekly status reports for each account.
  • Use SyteLine ERP reports to follow progress on customer orders. Follow-up on completed jobs and prepare invoicing materials daily; confirm weekly. Verify that all costs associated with the order are attached.
  • Work with Accounts Receivable to ensure timely, accurate invoicing. Call customers when invoices are 60 days past due. Update spreadsheet weekly on collection findings.
  • Assist other Account Managers and Sales Managers, as necessary, to please the customer and meet the workload.
  • Maintain all current drawings for accounts.
  • Maintain pricing schedule and estimates for accounts.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma/GED required; College degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in sales coordination, inside sales, customer service or similar.
  • Familiarity with construction terminology/concepts or sign background is a plus.
  • Good organizational and communication skills; proficient in math and record keeping.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to produce internal documents, deliver presentations, and interact with employees at all levels throughout the company.
  • Detail oriented and the ability to work independently.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new sk lls and take on new areas of responsibility.
  • Proficiency with Excel, Word, Access, Schedule, and Outlook;proficient in use of word processing, spreadsheets and database entry.
