We are a growing team of experienced silicon developers, working in a startup environment. We are looking for a Principal Silicon Architect to join our team.

Responsibilities

Your job responsibility as a Principal Silicon Architect is incubation of new ideas in collaboration with system and software teams, and providing technical leadership throughout all phases of silicon Application Specific Integrated Circuit (ASIC) development.

  • Work with system and software architects to define technical requirements & architecture specifications for chip development.

  • Drive evaluation and provide recommendations for technology, Intellectual Property (IP), and vendor selection.

  • Support design and verification in pre and post silicon to ensure features meet architectural requirements.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • 9+ years of related technical engineering experience

  • OR Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 6+ years technical engineering experience or internship experience

  • OR Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 4+ years technical engineering experience or internship experience

  • OR Doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience.

  • 3+ years of experience in one of the following fields:

  • Embedded central processing unit core (CPU-core)

  • On-die interconnect

  • Compute-intensive Intellectual Property (IP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to develop detailed architecture, performance, power and cost estimates from higher level features, function and performance requirements.

  • Proven track record of successful design and architecture of complicated Intellectual Property (IPs) and System on Chip (SoCs).

  • Direct experience of Machine Learning System on Chip (SOC) is a plus.

  • Direct experience in analyzing machine learning (ML) workload performance is a plus.

  • Ability to read and write detailed architectural specs.

  • Knowledge and expertise in large matrix multiplication, data formats / numeric representations, parallel computing, etc., as related to machine learning applications is a plus.

Silicon Engineering IC5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $133,600 - $256,800 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $173,200 - $282,200 per year.
