About the role:

This is an opportunity to lead the engineering and ML/AI efforts of an early-stage team pushing boundaries at the intersection of AI, real estate development, and AEC. We are pushing the boundaries of what is possible in a rapidly evolving field, working with customers to solve real-world problems with state-of-the-art AI. There is no playbook here. You’ll need to identify the opportunities and help create the products that transform this space.

As our Artificial Intelligence Lead, you'll lead a talented team of ML/AI engineers and software engineers in pursuing technological breakthroughs and designing impactful AI applications for real estate developers and AEC professionals. You’ll build innovative, impactful solutions that fuel product and business growth in this booming market.

How you'll make 10X impact:

  • Identify and implement the product development roadmap to identify and mitigate the riskiest parts of the project; this will typically include rapid building and iteration, embedded engineering, data acquisition and processing pipelines, ML modeling.

  • Formulate and lead the execution of our engineering and AI strategy, aligning it with business goals and strategic objectives.

  • Deepen your understanding of the real estate development and AEC domains, proactively identifying opportunities to push the boundaries of AI applications.

  • Lead and mentor a team of ML and software engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture.

  • Build and scale robust technical infrastructure, ensuring its seamless integration with existing systems and data pipelines.

  • Champion responsible AI practices, ensuring ethical and transparent development and implementation of technical solutions.

  • Actively collaborate with cross-functional teams, domain experts, and end users to refine product needs and ensure impactful technology solutions.

What you should have:

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Machine Learning, or a related field.

  • At least 8 years of industry experience in an engineering role, including at least 3 years leading and managing successful software and/or ML engineering projects.

  • Deep understanding of ML pipelines, algorithms, and best practices for model development, deployment, and monitoring.

  • Experience applying ML/AI to real-world problems, ideally within the real estate/AEC domains or using LLMs/multimodal foundation models.

  • Strong leadership and communication skills, experience influencing technical decisions, and fostering collaborative environments.

  • Passion for innovation and a willingness to experiment, learn quickly, and iterate based on data and feedback.

It’d be great if you also had these:

  • Hands-on experience with relevant tools and technologies like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, etc.

  • Understanding of cloud platforms like GCP and infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.

  • Prior experience in the real estate, AEC, or GIS domains.

  • Startup experience where you've honed your ability to build, test, and learn rapidly.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $188,000 - $299,000 + bonus + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
