Requisition Summary

PACCAR Technical Center is seeking an engine aftertreatment system verification Technical Lead Engineer (TLE) to support PACCAR’s Global Engine team in the product development of next generation engines and aftertreatment systems. In this role, you will apply your domain knowledge and team skills to take a leading role within PACCAR Global Engines.

Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Lead calibration, verification, and testing activities to support engine and aftertreatment systems verification in vehicle and in the test cell environment to meet project goals

  • Mentor and help develop less experienced engineers across PACCAR divisions

  • Provide high level summaries and technical advice to PACCAR leadership team and suppliers supported by data

  • Lead and support root cause analysis for complex aftertreatment development issues

  • Propose, implement, and utilize new methodology to improve system verification

  • Collaborate with program stakeholders to improve product quality, reliability, performance, and durability of the PACCAR powertrain

  • Collaborate with PACCAR powertrain Principal Engineers to apply advanced theories, concepts, principles, and processes that demonstrate substantial value

  • Collaborate with global PACCAR engine system level integration and domain area PLEs, project managers and engineering supervisors to support the verification team

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of demonstrated work experience in technology and product development

  • Experience in supplier management with strong leadership skills

  • Detailed knowledge of current heavy-duty diesel engine and exhaust aftertreatment technology including regulatory requirements and diagnostics

  • Proven experience with aftertreatment production level implementation and integration in heavy duty diesel vehicles

  • Must be self-directed; possess excellent analysis, communication, and presentation skills; must be organized and take a rigorous approach to engineering projects

  • Ability to work well independently and as part of a team

  • Ability to travel up to 15%, including international travel

Education

BS in a technical (STEM) field required, MS/PhD or advanced degree preferred
