Washington Bulb Co., Inc. Part-Time Receptionist Wed-Sat in Mount Vernon, Washington

Have you ever heard of Washington Bulb Co., Inc.?  Are you familiar with what this company does?   Washington Bulb Co., Inc. is one of the world's largest shippers of bulbs and fresh cut flowers.  We employ up to 500 people during our peak harvesting seasons.  In the Spring we pick and process flowers, and in the Summer, we dig and process bulbs.  In the Fall we plant bulbs, and in the Winter (and year-round) we harvest greenhouse flowers.  We operate year-round with our peak times being Spring and Summer.  Our motto is "There is no substitute for quality" and that goes into every aspect of the business.

Part-Time Receptionist/Office Support

24 hours.  Weds 12:30-5pm; Thurs 8:30am-5pm, Fri 12:30-5pm, Sat 7am-3:30pm

Job Description:

Answer incoming telephone calls and direct to proper destination.  

Greet any employees, visitors or customers that come to the office and direct them to who they need to see.  Promote good public relations and positive company image.  Treat all those who call or enter our doors as though they are royalty.

Keep track of where people are and when they will be back.  At times this requires asking people as they are walking out when they expect to return.

Assist employees picking up their paycheck, or other requested documents.  Communicate work availability to applicants and provide hiring packets when appropriate.

Ordering office supplies at low inventory level.

Receipt of payments (rent, employee purchases, etc.) and record in receipt book.

Logging various transactions including fuel logs, rain gauge, deliveries, pick-ups, emergency calls, medication, etc, requested as you are notified.

Maintain various documents such as Emergency Phone List and WDL list.

Print labels as needed.

Distribute faxes.

Perform "ad hoc" tasks as needed on computer (or otherwise) for all owner's and managers.  This could include letters, creating forms, inputting records, etc. 

Assist any department when needed to keep the ball rolling.

Responsible for logging out supplies that RoozenGaarde and Tulips.Com takes. Turns in list at end of month for billing.

Keep coffee pot full as needed.

Overall, making sure all communications between office staff and all others is open and functioning as efficiently as possible!  Also, handling all the little things that seem so trivial, but mean so much. Bi-lingual Spanish Preferred.  If your experience is limited, please apply anyway.  We are willing to provided additional training for the right candidate. This role is the communication hub of the company. While we are willing to train, this requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and deductive reasoning skills. $20/hr+ DOE; 24 hours per week.  Opportunity for extra hours on occasion.  Weds 12:30-5pm; Thurs 8:30am-5pm, Fri 12:30-5pm, Sat 7am-3:30pm (Sun-Tues OFF).
