Central Ohio Joint Fire District Firefighter Paramedic/EMT in Mount Vernon, Ohio

**COJFD - Firefighter Paramedic/EMT

FULL-TIME AND PART-TIME POSITIONS**

 The Central Ohio Joint Fire District is always accepting applications and conducting candidate physical agility testing for the position of Full-Time Firefighter Paramedic. The application process is open until all positions are filled.

 A Full-Time applicant meeting minimum qualifications: must be at least 18 years of age, possess a High School diploma or equivalent, valid Ohio driver's license, State of Ohio Firefighter II certification, Ohio Paramedic certification or EMT.  The EMT must obtain paramedic certification within three years of full-time appointment.

 A Part-Time applicant meeting minimum qualifications: must be at least 18 years of age, possess a High School diploma or equivalent, valid Ohio driver's license, State of Ohio Firefighter I certification, and be at minimum an Ohio EMT-B. 

 All applicants are required to pass a background check, drug screen, and a physical examination prior to employment. The Central Ohio Joint Fire District is an equal opportunity employer.

 The Fire District serves the residential communities of the Village of Centerburg, Hilliar, Milford, and South Bloomfield Townships and is located 35 miles northeast of Columbus, Ohio and 20 min from Intel. The Central Ohio Joint Fire District is a combination department with 17 career and part-time personnel. The department is a well-respected, full-service agency that provides emergency response services and community outreach to approximately 8,000 residents in a 78 square mile service area.

 Full-Time Benefits include: - lateral transfers up to four years (Step - 4 $19.65), paid health insurance, sick leave, holiday pay and leave, Paramedic Tuition Reimbursement, and paid vacation.

 Part-Time Paramedic starts at $16.64 per hour, an EMT-B starts at $14.56 per hour, and both work a rotating every sixth day rotation.

Applications must include a copy of your Ohio Certifications and Ohio Driver License. Interviews, written and physical ability testing must be completed prior to final appointment, but are scheduled at time of interview.
