Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta is a member of the Dignity Health system of health care providers and is a not-for-profit medical facility. We are designated as a 25 bed Critical Access Hospital and are accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Health care Organizations. In addition to our acute care hospital we also own and operate two Rural Health Clinics providing walk-in immediate care as well as scheduled appointments for routine medical needs.We are located in the northernmost area of California and are part of a network of care including Mercy Medical Center Redding and St. Elizabeth Community Hospital in Red Bluff. Responsibilities

Program Summary:

Under the direct supervision the incumbent is responsible for the delivery of care of the newborn and obstetrical patients through the deployment of the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation. The incumbent directs and guides patient teaching activities of ancillary personnel while maintaining standards for professional nursing. The position reports to the Director Perinatal/Quality

Qualifications

Experience

Labor and Delivery experience required. 1 year recent hospital experience

Education

AA degree in nursing from an accredited school of nursing

BS degree in nursing from an accredited school of nusring (Preferred)

Licensure

Current California Registered Nurse license,BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification. ACLS within one year of hire or transfer into department

Special Skills

Ability to function within the limits of State Nurse Practice Act. Conscious Sedation competency

Training

Intermediate Fetal Monitoring Course by AWHONN or NCC certification within 6 months of hire (Preferred)

Pay Range

$48.38 - $60.75 /hour
