Hitachi Energy Regional Technical Manager (Northeast) - Grid Edge Solutions in Mount Pleasant, Pennsylvania

We are seeking an energized and passionate Regional Technical Manager for our Grid Edge Solutions business in the Northeast region of the United States. The candidate will focus on solving customer's power system challenges through the application of advanced controls for battery energy storage solutions (BESS) and microgrids. Our customers include the utility, commercial, industrial, transportation and other power and energy related sectors. The candidate must have the ability to collaborate on assigned sales pursuits, conducting technical presentations, provide customer consultations, and supporting the sales organization in engaging with partners and customers. It is expected that high level relationships will be established with some key clients with the goal to become their trusted advisor on technical matters. We look for passion to serve customers, identify their problems and provide a solution that meets their needs and expectations.

Your Responsibilities:

Coordinate customer visits with the Regional Sales Managers to interface with customers on technical matters. Specifically, you will help to ensure early engagement with customers to identify their power and energy usage objectives, guide them through potential options for addressing those objectives and help determine specifications required for those options.

Review technical specifications received from customers to determine technical viability and appropriateness for Hitachi Energy to respond to tender requests.

Represent Grid Edge Solutions at industry conferences and conventions, speaking to the industry, and writing white papers or technical publications.

Develop and present "Tech Talks" to industry invitees to help educate the industry on current and future trends in the Grid Edge Solutions space - especially those applications for which batteries and microgrids can be utilized.

Serve as technical consultant and trusted advisor for clients.

Identify areas of business and process improvement needs inside the customer, and propose practical solutions (solution architecture), and assist with implementation of project plans and decisions.

Work closely with Product Management, Product Marketing, and R&D to identify market trend and portfolio gaps to ensure continued innovation of our leading-edge technology fits customer needs and market requirements.

Your Background:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering. Concentration in Electrical Power / Energy Systems is preferred.

Knowledge of power system principles and operations at the utility and industrial levels is required.

Extended experience in performing utility transmission or distribution planning, utility operating studies and/or industrial power system studies is a plus. Experienced in multiple power system simulations software such as: PSS/E, PSLF or DSATools and ASPEN is helpful.

Experience with to renewables and energy storage studies, or electric vehicle charging is preferred.

Background in Battery Energy Storage Solutions, Microgrids, or Substation Automation is preferred.

Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
