Position Summary:

The Physician Assistant (PA) Masters in Science Program in the School of Rehabilitation and Medical Sciences is recruiting for a full-time, 12 month, tenure-track faculty position at the Associate/Full Professor level, depending on credentials, to begin July 1, 2024 or earlier. The duties of this position involve classroom teaching, advising, committee service, scholarly activity, and other duties as assigned. Further, this position includes an initial, five-year appointment as program director, directing the ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant Education Program.

Required Qualifications:

• Master degree in Physician Assistant studies. • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a physician assistant in Michigan if licensed elsewhere. • NCCPA Board Certification required. • A minimum of three (3) years of PA Education. • Recent clinical and/or teaching experience in one or more of the following areas: surgery, emergency medicine, clinical procedures, radiology, hospitalist/internal medicine and basic medical sciences. • Ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• An earned Doctoral degree. • Previous experience directing a physician assistant education program. • Evidence of scholarly work that has the potential to lead to external funding. • Evidence of involvement with professional associations and organizations. • Proficiency in use of technology. • Effective oral/written communication skills. • Demonstrated leadership skills. • Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
