Position Summary:

Cleans and maintains an assigned area of the Hospital in a sanitary, orderly, and attractive condition.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Attends all meetings and training sessions as scheduled.

  • Selects cleaning materials and supplies and prepares solutions according to procedure. Loads service cart and transports to work area.

  • Cleans assigned areas by washing walls, doors, door frames, ceilings, ceiling vents, patient televisions, windows, water fountains, furniture, tile, fixtures and equipment with appropriate solution.

  • Sweeps and mop's floor areas, vacuums' carpets, spot cleans carpets, using appropriate solutions, and arranges furniture and equipment in an orderly fashion after cleaning assigned area.

  • Requests cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.

  • Operates various types of cleaning equipment both mechanical and electrical, i.e. wringers, vacuums, including wet/dry vacuums; or other equipment as assigned.

  • Cleans equipment and notifies manager of equipment needing repair.

  • Reports safety hazards to supervisor in timely manner.

  • May climb ladder to hang cubicle drapes, window drapes, blinds or reach high areas for other cleaning purposes.

  • May collect waste from all areas of Hospital, sanitizes all garbage cans.

Required:

Preferred:

  • Six months housekeeping or maintenance experience.

  • High school diploma or GED.
