Position Summary:

The Department of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at Central Michigan University invites applications for a 9-month Lecturer position in environmental science and geology beginning in August 2024. The selected candidate will be expected to teach undergraduate courses in biogeochemical cycling and hydrologic processes, as well as survey-level courses in environmental science or geology. This is a part-time position with benefits.

Required Qualifications:

Candidates must hold a M.S. or Ph.D. degree in environmental science, geology, or a related field. In addition, candidates must demonstrate (1) strong oral and written communication skills, (2) the potential for outstanding teaching, and (3) the ability to perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodations.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preference will be given to candidates with a Ph.D. in environmental science, geology, or a related science and/or university-level teaching experience.

The expertise of EAS faculty members spans the Earth sciences, including petrology, hydrology, environmental modeling, geophysics, geochemistry, climatology, and meteorology.
