Description

Instructors for this position are required to teach a minimum of two classes, back-to-back. One class is a College Composition I (ENG 101) course and the other a paired College Compositions I Clinic (ENG 080).

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

OVERALL PURPOSE AND RESPONSIBILITY:

The primary and most important overall responsibility of all employees is to provide service in a pleasant, helpful, and effective manner to our students and other members of the College community.

Minimum Qualifications

Education Required:Master's degree from an accredited institution including 18 graduate semester hours in English, College Composition, or related field. Applicants with a Master's degree in Education and an English teaching certification and College Composition teaching experience may be considered.

Experience Required:Prior experience teaching English classes or College Composition classes in an accelerated learning program or with developmental education preferred. Teaching experience in a community college environment is a plus

Additional Information

INSTITUTIONAL EFFECTIVENESS:

Collaborates with department members and/or the Compliance, Assessment and Research team to support planning, assessment, data collection and reporting for continuous improvement of the college.
