Part Time Day role

Position Summary:

Provides care and treatment to patients under the supervision of the attending physician(s) in accordance with established guidelines.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  1. Obtains health histories and assesses the patient in order to determine healthcare needs.

  2. Performs physical examinations.

  3. Orders routine laboratory/diagnostic tests and adjusts treatment plan as appropriate.

  4. Makes tentative diagnosis about management and treatment of patients.

  5. Counsels patients in relation to their health needs.

  6. Orders consultations and interacts with specialty medical teams.

  7. Maintains continuing professional education, licensure, and accreditation.

  8. Assures medical records are concise, accurate and legible.

  9. Contributes to customer satisfaction and participates in quality improvement initiatives.

  10. Performs other related duties as required and directed.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Graduate of approved or accredited Physician Assistant program

  • Current Physician Assistant state license

  • Requires experience assisting with open heart surgery procedures and performing endoscopic vein harvesting.

  • ACLS certification

  • BLS certification

Preferred:

  • Prior Physician Assistance experience
