BBSI Paralegal/Legal Assistant in Moses Lake, Washington

Full-time Paralegal/Case Manager (40 hours onsite/remote-- Monday -- Friday)

The following are essential job duties and employee qualities:

  • Conduct discovery, including document collection, document production, and review of large document databases;
  • Draft legal documents; conduct research; follow procedures and meet deadlines;
  • Mediation, arbitration, and trial preparation including subpoenas for witnesses, trial documents for the court, trial notebooks, exhibit preparation
  • Ability to manage and distil large amounts of information and data is critical for the position
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication with co-workers and clients
  • Highly organized - tracks priorities and deadlines, and maintain organized client files
  • Self-starter, self-motivated, and ability to work independently at times
  • Uses good judgment and takes responsibility for work
  • Trial experience -- provide detailed information regarding preparation or involvement in personal injury trials.

Requirements: Must have basic legal terminology and an awareness of court filing requirements. Must be able to use legal citations and apply to firm documents. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word (styles & tables), and Outlook. File management (both paper and electronic). Pre-litigation case management. Understanding of insurance coverages. Routine communication with clients. Routine communication with outside agencies (including insurance claims adjusters, health care providers, and subrogation adjusters). Overseeing the administration of PIP/health insurance benefits. Review medical records and billings. Preparing settlement demand packages. Preparation of settlement accountings (including subrogation negotiations). Working knowledge of litigation and trial preparation/deadlines. Interview questions will be based upon pre-litigation and litigation scenarios.
