Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Engineering Intern - Automation in Moscow, Idaho

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories (SEL) is seeking an Engineering Intern - Automation to join the Vertical Integration team in Moscow, Idaho. As an Engineering Intern - Automation, you will work closely with the Equipment Automation Engineering Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Asses existing systems and propose automation solutions:

  • Collaborate on system analysis and propose automation solutions.

  • Propose, plan, and develop enhancements.

  • Participate in testing and validation.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Measure and document the impact of improvements.

  • Collaborate with production team members and maintenance technicians to address common line faults.

Training and Support:

  • Provide training to technicians and production team members.

  • Work independently and collaboratively to ensure efficient system functioning.

Required Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD degree program at an accredited university.

  • Field(s) of study: Electronic, Mechatronics engineering, or related fields.

  • Basic knowledge of PLC and Robot programming (Allen Bradley/Siemens/Fanuc).

  • Basic knowledge of object-oriented programming is a plus.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to learn new skills and assume new responsibilities.

  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment.

    Pay Range Data

    ($17.00 - 26.50 per hour)* Our intern pay is determined based on the internship role (the work you would be doing) and your year in school (when you plan to graduate). Talk to your recruiter if you are curious about the rate for your year in school.
