rrPosition Summary:

rThis position reports to the Director of Admissions Operations and has responsibility for managing the day-to-day processing of domestic and international undergraduate degree and non-degree seeking applications and decisions to meet processing goals and ensure policy compliance and data quality standards. This includes supervising admissions operations staff and student employees in the processing of files for prospective students and providing general oversight of all undergraduate admission processing activities, using independent discretion and judgment to make decisions. The Associate Director coordinates international admissions processing; researches complex materials; provides international student advising and assistance during the admissions process, ensures compliance with immigration laws and regulations; prepares immigration forms; and performs related duties. The Associate Director of Admissions must maintain a strong knowledge of Admissions across the University. Through leadership, innovation, and collaboration with other parts of the institution, this position will ensure that the work of the office is shaped by, and has the potential to shape, the goals and mission of the university as a whole.

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

{=html} <!-- --> - Two years of experience working in an admissions processing environment - Interpreting and applying laws, rules, and procedures related to admissions applications - Analyzing information and researching a variety of sources to identify and resolve issues - Establishing and maintaining working relationships with students, faculty, staff, administrators

rrPreferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree
  • Some knowledge of international educational systems.
  • Experience with SEVIS and immigration regulations for non-immigrant students.
  • Work experience in a college or university setting.
  • Knowledge of UI policies and procedures, campus facilities, and student support services.
  • Experience with the Banner administrative database system.
  • Experience with Slate.
  • Ability to take initiative, exercise sound judgment, and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Knowledge and understanding of the structure and chain of responsibilities within a university;
  • Excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to identify, research, and correct errors for multiple or complex programs;
  • Ability to work with individuals from varying cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds
