Professional Rank and Salary Range:SL-2; $27.50/hour (grant funded)

Duration: College Year (this follows the 9-month academic calendar)

Part Time, Temporary:Part Time (18 hours/week) temporary assignment, expected to be active for 2-years.

Schedule:

  • 2024-2025 Academic Year: July 15, 2024 - May 23, 2025

  • 2025-2026 Academic Year: August 2025 through May 2026 (exact dates TBD)

  • Evening hours are expected

Brief Description of Duties:

SUNY Morrisville is seeking a Part Time ACE Advisor to support our ACE Program at SUNY Morrisville.

Advancing Completion Through Engagement (ACE) is a baccalaureate completion program based on the principles of CUNY's Accelerated Study in Associate Programs (ASAP). ACE is designed to increase timely graduation rates by removing the financial, academic, and personal obstacles that many students confront. Key ACE program features include a consolidated block schedule, small class size, required full-time study, as well as holistic support for academic, social and career needs. Financial incentives include tuition waivers for financial aid eligible students and yearly textbook assistance for the students.

The ACE Advisor is a member of an integrated college team providing individual academic and personal support to an assigned group of college students as they progress through the program.

Primary Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Delivers holistic support services including academic, social, wellness, and career guidance to an assigned group of students through degree completion;

  • Reviews student progress and tracks student use of academic support services;

  • Conducts regular outreach to faculty and other college staff as needed to support student success;

  • Maintains accurate tracking data and notes for each assigned student, recommending appropriate referrals and opportunity programs;

  • May conduct or support delivery of student seminars on issues of importance to students.

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications

  • A Bachelor's degree. In addition, it is desirable that a candidate have a Master's degree in progress, with general experience in academic advisement or a related area.
