Catalent Pharma Solutions Senior Associate Scientist - Bioassay in Morrisville, North Carolina

Position Summary:

Catalent Pharma Solutions is Morrisville, NC is hiring a Senior Associate Scientist in the Biologics group. The Bioassay group at Catalent Morrisville plays a pivotal role in supporting the development of biopharmaceutical products, collaborating both directly with customers and other Catalent facilities. As a Senior Associate Scientist, you will analyze different modalities (proteins, mAbs, AAV, etc.) using PCR, ELISA, and Bioassay techniques.

This is a full-time position: Monday – Friday, 8:00AM-5:00PM.

The Research Triangle Park (RTP) facility is Catalent's Center of Excellence for Analytical Services and is also home to Catalent's Inhalation franchise including product development, clinical and commercial manufacturing for pMDI, DPI and Nasal Sprays.

The Role

  • Execute laboratory work plan/schedule developed with input from supervisor or senior team member

  • Perform lab work with the assistance of a senior team member

  • Assist in writing methods, certificates of analysis, and deviations, and other technical documents

  • Performs parallel review of laboratory documentation

  • Perform technical review of documents for accuracy, thoroughness, and regulatory compliance

  • Trains others on procedures and laboratory techniques

  • Executes efficiency improvement project with guidance

  • Suggest process improvements and assist with implementation

  • All other duties as assigned;

The Candidate

  • Masters degree is required with 0-2 years of experience OR Bachelors degree is required with 3-5 years of experience OR Associates degree is required with 6 or more years of experience

  • Familiarity with some lab techniques, including Elisa, Cell Culture, SDS Page Gels, and PCR, is strongly preferred

  • Must be able to move from task-to-task quickly

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Must be goal-oriented, and be able to work with others toward a common goal

  • Highly proficient in basic computer usage, and familiarity with lab programs, including Softmax and Hamilton

  • Must be collaborative, and work well in teams

  • Quick learner, with a willingness to learn new techniques and grow within the team

  • Individual may be required to sit, stand, walk regularly and occasionally lift 0-15 pounds;
