Description and Requirements

We are searching for a Summer 2024 intern to act as a Quality Engineer who will be the continuous improvement leader for Server products. The primary responsibilities of the Server Quality Engineer position are to drive daily adherence to the Quality Management System and Operation Excellence subject matter expert. This position supports the Lenovo Worldwide Infrastructure Solutions team. In this role you will:

  • Drive quality improvement efforts to enforce an effective Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Uses Operation Excellence methodology to improve processes and reduce field defects.

  • Report KPI Metrics and perform Data analysis to drive continuous product improvement.

  • Act as a Customer advocate in Product Ship Support and Daily Quality roll call discussion.

  • Work with Supplier Quality Engineer on Commodity Quality and Supplier FA activities.

  • Verify commodity categorization, structure and accuracy of Storage data in our analytics tool.

  • Support the Product Engineering team with field-quality data.

  • Responsible for technical quality assurance process and reviews during product design and development activities.

  • Coordinate and facilitate lesson-learned review (FuPan).

  • Collaborate with virtual teams and management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Active Student pursuing a Degree in quality, industrial, or mechanical engineering.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Interest in quality engineering, quality assurance, or a similar role.

  • Experience coding and using QA software tools and processes.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent project management skills.
